AVALIAÇÃO DE LUZ NATURAL NO AMBIENTE DE SALA DE AULA DA FAU/UFRJ

Abstract

The current energy demand and the concern to reduce the increasing consumption of electrical energy in order to mitigate greater damage to nature in its production has served as a motto for the study of energy efficiency in educational buildings designed in the 1950s and 1960s to housing a form of education that, in turn, has undergone significant transformations with the incorporation of technological innovation that increases final consumption and overloads obsolete electrical installations. The Modernist building of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, awarded in 1957, at the IV São Paulo Biennial and by the architect Jorge Machado Moreira, is located in Rio de Janeiro, Island of Fundão, in which the University City is located. Currently, at the JMM Building also work the Rectory of the University and the undergraduate courses of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The review of the use of artificial lighting in classrooms is an important first step in analyzing the quality of performance of teaching and learning activities today. In this sense, the present work aims at rethinking the use of electric energy for illumination of FAU / UFRJ classrooms, finding strategies of energy efficiency, in order to reduce electricity costs, being a relevant economy for the environment and public safes. For this, the NatLite[1] and RadLite[1] programs were used to measure parameters such as illuminance, daylight factor and glare, which directly impact the user. In addition to these parameters, the efficiency of light shelves was measured as an instrument to improve the quality of natural light in the classroom environment.
