This article aims to analyze the sidewalks of Palmas in Tocantins, through a survey it was possible to discuss the quality of sidewalks present in the city, in order to give light to this discussion about the newest capital of Brazil. It is well known that they must be accessible and passable in all their extension, as well as interconnections with pedestrian lanes, streets and other spaces, and this is a democratic space for all and for all. The methodological course was elaborated in 02 stages, being: definition of study areas and evaluation in loco under a sample aspect, that in this study tried to evaluate the sidewalks of places of great circulation, such as the central area of Palmas and the neighborhood of Taquaralto. Such methodology is part of those used by Mobilize, through the Calçada do Brasil project. Finally, it can be seen that the development of sidewalks in the central area proved to be better than in the remote area. It can also be evaluated that even in the most consolidated areas, there is no interconnection between the sidewalks, presence of considerable gaps, and obstacles that impede the good circulation of users, whether PCD or not.
