In order to solve the housing deficit, the social programs launched by the federal and state governments made it possible for the population to acquire homes with minimal dimensions and low quality materials. The gradual demand for housing has succeeded in the growing development of standardized projects. However, this type of model can result in the absence of quality in these buildings, considering that they are occasionally produced with a view to increasing profits at the expense of quality. Considering that thermal comfort is one of the factors that contribute to the quality of the built environment, there is in Brazil the NBR 15220-3: Thermal performance of buildings, which presents constructive guidelines for Social Interest Housing (HIS) for eight Bioclimatic Zones of the territory Brazilian, the most comprehensive being the Bioclimatic Zone 8, occupying 53.7% of the national territory. That said, the present work aimed to identify and analyze in the HIS Wirton Lira project, from the Jirau Arquitetura office, located in Caruaru-PE - Bioclimatic Zone 8 - the construction guidelines presented in the standard. The method of analysis was organized in three stages, where the first was made the Identification of the recommendations present in NBR 15220-3 for the Bioclimatic Zone 8. In the second part, the design of a project for a housing unit in the residential Wirton Lira was carried out. . Finally, the Wirton Lira residential project was analyzed based on the recommendations of NBR 15220-3. The results showed from the analysis that the residential is able to meet some of the requirements expressed by the standard, but of course, some negative points also affect it.
