COMPARAÇÕES NO DESEMPENHO TÉRMICO ENTRE PROTÓTIPOS DE TELHA CERÂMICA E TELHA DE CONCRETO EM PALMAS - TO

Considering that housing must supply the needs and requirements of the user, the choice of used materials directly impacts thermal comfort (among others). Bearing in mind that Palmas region in Tocantins, is characterized by the hot climate for most of the year, the importance of this research lies in the concern for thermal comfort in this geographical context. That said, the research aimed to evaluate, on an experimental basis, the feasibility of using ceramic tiles and concrete tiles in the referenced region through the thermal performance of these tiles (ceramic and concrete). The evaluation was made through the normative procedure and on-site measurements of prototypes, according to the criteria defined in NBR 15.575-1 (ABNT, 2013), 15.575-4 (ABNT, 2013) and 15.575-5 (ABNT, 2013) with amendments to the mentioned standards published in March 2021; these amendments were not adopted by this paper, because they report a reality of comparison between a real case and a model, and this work evaluates two prototypes. The experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Tocantins, through measurements in test cells constructed according to normative recommendations. The data collection was done through temperature and humidity sensors installed inside the test cells, during the period of 3 days, during 24 hours per day. It was concluded that both analyzed tiles did not reach the minimum performance stipulated by the standard.
