The use of adapted containers for housing has been growing in Brazil (where we can include the Brazilian Army) and in the world, given the impossibility of their disposal or reverse logistics. This article aims to perform an optimization analysis of the envelope of an adapted container concerning thermal comfort and energy efficiency (generation and consumption of energy for air conditioning) through computer simulation. For this, a mixed module of accommodation and office was modeled for computer simulation with the EnergyPlus software, using weather data from Campo Grande-MS and settings from the INMETRO Normative Instruction for the Classification of Energy Efficiency of Commercial, Service and Public Buildings (INI-C). The parametrization of envelope variables was performed using JEPlus and the non-denominated sorting genetic algorithm - NSGA-II was used to optimize the performance in JEPlus+EA. As a result, the Pareto frontier was obtained with combinations of variables to meet the proposed objectives. To minimize the energy balance, the optimal solutions combined low solar absorptance, 2.5cm thermal insulation on the walls, 6mm simple glass, smaller window area and 20° inclination of the photovoltaic solar panels. The tools used showed that the combination of some variables improves comfort and energy consumption in the container module, such as changing the solar absorptance of the external wall and the solar orientation.
