This paper aims to verify the impact of glazing façade system on the thermal performance of residential environments, taking as a parameter the revision of the Brazilian Standard 15575/2013. The object of study adopted was a living room of a high-standard multifamily building located in Londrina, Paraná, where it was evaluated both by the simplified procedure and by the computer simulation procedure, present in the revision of the performance standard. As a result, it was obtained that the long permanence room (APP) does not meet the minimum performance due to the new simplified procedure, in the criterion of surface area of transparent elements, exceeding the limit established. As for the new computer simulation procedure, the APP in its real model did not reach the minimum level, due to the failure to meet the maximum annual operating temperature criterion. The criterion of the percentage of hours within the operating temperature range was met, however, with a value of 44.5%, demonstrating that the environment is highly dependent on an artificial air conditioning system to obtain comfort by users. The study pointed out that the use of glass façades negatively impacted the thermal performance of the residential environment, for the local climate, with insufficient strategies to compensate for its application. The revision of the Brazilian Standard 15575, on the other hand, presented more complete and rigorous analyzes, with indicators that provide assistance in the elaboration of solutions.
