PERCEPÇÃO AMBIENTAL E COMPORTAMENTO DO USUÁRIO EM REGIME DE HOME OFFICE NO PERÍODO DE ISOLAMENTO DA COVID-19

Abstract

There are many ways by which occupants interact with the building in order to achieve comfort and increase the indoor environmental quality. However, the drivers and reasons that lead to user-building actions are yet to be fully understood. Several studies attempt to understand these relationships in offices and residences. However, in the current state imposed by COVID-19, a number of people have started to work at home and little is known about occupant’s behavior and satisfaction in this new context. In order to develop this research, a questionnaire was elaborated based on the self-perception of the respondents who are currently working from home. The questions were divided in five topics: contextualization of housing, contextualization of the user, contextualization of the activity, behavior and satisfaction. The online questionnaire was made available in March 2021 to members of the Working Group on Environmental Comfort and Energy Efficiency from ANTAC, with 76 completed questionnaire forms. The main drivers for occupant's interactions with the indoor environment were aspects related to ventilation, temperature, natural lighting and acoustic discomfort, in an increasing order of dissatisfaction. Regarding user's needs, acoustic and luminous comfort were highlighted. Regarding actions, the opening/closing of windows and curtains were more frequent. As for the systems, elements such as windows, curtains and the use of headphones stood out.
