Keywords:
daylight, health, circadian rhythmAbstract
The availability of natural light in an environment can bring benefits related to its users comfort and wellbeing, in addition to benefits in physiological processes, being daylight associated with aspects such as mood, concentration, sleep quality and stress levels. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze the scientific production panorama that investigates the influence of daylighting on human health between the years 2000 and 2020. The Systematic Literature Review (RSL) was used as a methodology in order to map the studies already produced relating daylight and health. The methodology was divided into four stages: (1) Cataloging of articles; (2) Analysis by theme; (3) Restriction by year and relevance; (4) Content analysis. From an initial sample of 19,161 articles, seven were selected for content analysis. The results make it possible to analyze that “school”, “children” and “recovery” were, respectively, the environment, the age group and the possible effect of natural light on human health with the largest number of publications between the years 2000 and 2020. It is concluded that research on the theme has intensified over the years with increasing projections for almost all themes, revealing different methodologies and future promising scenarios regarding the evolution of research on daylight and health.
