O USO DE PRATELEIRAS DE LUZ PARA MELHORIA DO DESEMPENHO LUMINOSO EM AMBIENTE ESCOLAR EM VITÓRIA (ES)

Daylighting is usually characterized by unequal light distribution within the indoor environments. Inserting Light Shelf type shading devices can improve lumen uniformity by reducing excessive brightness in areas near openings. In this context, this study aimed to investigate the resulting natural lighting in the school environment due to the use of solar protection devices of the type Light Shelves. In the methodology were performed simulations with the TropLux software, where specific points of a school environment in Vitória- ES (LAT 20 ° 19 'S), with opening oriented North and South, at pre-established times and days of the year, using standard CIE skies (Commission Internationale L´aclairage). From these results we created graphs that allowed a comparative analysis between the situations of the school environment with and without the presence of the horizontal Light Shelf device. It was observed that, in situations with the Light Shelf, for sky conditions 7 (partly cloudy) and 12 (light), there was a reduction in the percentage of excessive illumination especially when oriented to the north. It was also found that it was only with the use of the light shelf with double bulkhead, in the condition of sky 7 (partially cloudy) and sky 12 (clear) with an opening facing North, that a more significant reduction in the percentage of lighting was possible excessive.
