ESTIMACIÓN DE LA EFICIENCIA DE LA VENTILACIÓN NATURAL ENUN EDIFICIO DEOFICINAS
Keywords:

The building of the Urban Development Company (EDU) is located in Medellín city. The office activities carried out there were designed to ventilate naturally by thermosiphon effect. Although the building is already occupied, the solar chimney needed to complete the system is not concluded yet and currently the ventilation enters the building only through its windows. In order to have a necessary baseline to carry out comparisons once the solar chimney starts operating, anemometers were installed and records from a nearby meteorological station were used. Classification of the records allowed the identification of three representative dates to evaluate the current ventilation of the building under low, medium and high wind conditions. For each of these three conditions, air flow and renewal calculations were made in two of the building's floors, which allowed comparing the efficiency with which both floors are ventilated. It was found that the building actually meets the minimum ventilation parameters in offices during a significant part of the day. The periods in which ventilation was insufficient, optimal or excessive from a regulatory point of view and were identified in an anual basis.
