Abstract

This article conducted a systematic review, following the PRISMA protocol, and a bibliometric analysis of 41 Brazilian publications (search: 1990–2025) on the aging of façades and roofs from the perspective of thermal performance. A predominance of natural aging was observed, with emphasis on solar reflectance and absorptance and limited evaluation of surface temperature. Significant gaps were also identified: short duration of natural exposure tests (< 12 months), heterogeneity of accelerated aging protocols, and poor representation of the North and Northeast regions. It is proposed to standardize accelerated aging methods, extend time-series, systematically incorporate surface temperature measurements, diversify the geographic base, and strengthen interinstitutional collaborations.
