Abstract

Sheep wool is a renewable and environmentally friendly material, used in the construction industry, its properties provide good thermal and acoustic insulation. An innovative material aligned with the circular and sustainable economy. The thermo-acoustic insulating blankets obtained with industrial textile processes are characterized with respect to their resistance and thermal conductivity according to measurement procedures for Heat Transmission in Steady Regime using the Thermal Gradient meter: ISO 8301:1991/Amd 1:2010, ASTM C518:2021 and IRAM 1860:2002. The values obtained in tests are compared with conventional insulating materials, reaching or exceeding their performance, the main difference being their hygroscopic capacity and their behavior as a thermoregulator.
