Abstract

This paper presents the evolution of the extension action “Community Workshops Focused on Environmental Comfort and Energy Efficiency in Housing,” implemented by professors from UFRJ who participate in the Study Group XXX. This action arose from the need to improve environmental comfort conditions in the communities of Rio de Janeiro. The UFRJ Residential Village was chosen as the field of action for being a safe community and for being located on the UFRJ campus, which makes it a “laboratory” for various extension actions. The work carried out by the group reaffirms the relevance of the dialogue between the university and society.
