Qualidade acústica do Auditório Sebastião Jorge Chammé do Centro Cultural Matarazzo, em Presidente Prudente - SP

Abstract

In this work, the acoustic conditioning of the Sebastião Jorge Chammé Auditorium, at Centro Cultural Matarazzo, in Presidente Prudente - SP, was analyzed, identifying possible inadequacies based on standards ABNT NBR 3382-2:2017, ABNT NBR 12179:1992 and ABNT NBR 16313:2014. The methodology included a bibliographical review on architectural acoustics and acoustic perception, data collection and analysis of the site, measurements of the sound pressure level and the burst of an 18-inch balloon, calculations of reverberation time and acoustic parameters, in addition to studies of existing, on-site and iconographic surveys. It was found that the Auditorium had high reverberation, impacting speech intelligibility. As a solution, it was proposed to replace the concrete floors with a more suitable material and add absorbent coatings to part of the walls for certain conditions of use. In this way, the study reinforces the importance of acoustic treatment in architecture to ensure clear and efficient communication.
