Green façades are one of the typologies of vertical gardens that use climbing or trailing plants to cover surfaces. They can serve as a strategy for shading and solar attenuation, with performance depending on the species characteristics and the supporting structure. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the performance of indirect green façades with the native species Ipomoea cairica in terms of solar attenuation, through an experiment with simple and double structures, located in Bauru - SP. The methodology included monthly monitoring of the species' development, measurements of incident and protected radiation, and calculations of Leaf Area Index and Leaf Area Density. The results showed excellent vegetation cover (above 90% in the third month) and solar attenuation between 67% and 82%. Although the double façade performed better, the attenuation in the simple structure was similar, representing a more economical option.
