This study investigated the calibration of thermal performance computer simulation models, aiming to improve the accuracy of simulations for existing buildings. Climate monitoring of a residence was conducted, and a representative virtual model of the building was developed. Calibration was carried out using the NMBE, CVRSME indices, and the coefficient of determination (R²), with adjustments to the parameters of components that most influence thermal performance. The results showed a significant reduction in deviations between the temperatures observed in the calibrated model and those recorded on-site, in comparison with the non-calibrated model, with a NMBE close to zero and R² greater than 0.80. The study found that the calibrated model might present results approximated to the real building, but deviations were still observed during certain periods, suggesting that further refinements to the model are needed.
