Resumen

A pesar de la expansión del Building Information Modeling (BIM) desde los años 2000, su adopción aún se considera innovadora en países como Brasil e India, así como en pequeñas y medianas empresas, que enfrentan barreras técnicas y financieras. Este estudio realizó un análisis bibliométrico sobre la implementación del BIM, con foco en protocolos y métodos, a partir de 8.512 publicaciones indexadas en las bases de datos Scopus® y Web of Science™, entre 2004 y 2024, utilizando el software VOSviewer. Los resultados revelan un crecimiento continuo en las publicaciones, con destaque para los años 2022 (WoS) y 2023 (Scopus). Estados Unidos (20,11 %), China (20,74 %) y el Reino Unido (13,18 %) lideran la producción científica, impulsados por políticas públicas. Brasil representa solo el 1,93 %, lo que indica una brecha regional. Se concluye que existe la necesidad de una mayor internacionalización de la investigación, así como del desarrollo de directrices y protocolos adaptados a los contextos locales, con el fin de ampliar la adopción eficiente del BIM en diferentes realidades.
