Abstract

Auditoriums are increasingly present in buildings in the most different features. The good acoustic design of an auditorium comes from several ergonomic and environmental comfort variables, which is necessary at times a multidisciplinary team for this purpose. Although there is an established knowledge in the area of architectural acoustics, it has been noticed a lack of references that can translate to the architect such parameters which are often pulverized in standards and technical books without a connection between other important precepts, such as ergonomy and accessibility, hindering the process to elaborate auditorium designs. The purpose of this article is to present guidelines for auditorium designs that can enable the creative process of the architect at the moment of designing and help it so that the design decisions can result in a good acoustic performance of the room. The parameters considered most relevant were: internal geometry, angle of the floor, distribution and organization of the audience, design of the galleries, acoustic conditioning and sound insulation.
