Abstract

The city of Sinop with 132.934 inhabitants is located in the north of Mato Grosso. The city has large green areas and some of them are undergoing alteration in the soundscape through urbanization, such as the Aquarela Brasil, Parque Florestal and Av. Tarumãs neighborhoods. The soundscapes in these three places were studied and were chosen because they have different typologies, two of them being well wooded and one with little vegetation and in the center of the city. The research objective is to identify the points of preservation of the soundscape and to identify which interferes in the comfort of the people. Sound measurements were made "in loco" and show the influence of recreational activities, traffic and sound vehicles connected in their soundscapes, while users feel in comfort or not, identifying different sounds of the sound landscape. Objective and subjective results that are practically antagonistic, however related, involving physical, sensory and psychological variables are presented and asked for in this article. The sound levels are above the limit imposed by the regulations, however there is a satisfaction by the users.
