The increasing use of innovative building systems and the need to verify the performance of Brazilian buildings due to the implementation of the performance standard (NBR 15575: 2013) motivated the study of the performance of several innovative systems by manufacturers and builders. The acoustic performance is treated in the standard in item 12 and applies to internal and external vertical (Part 4). The Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) construction system is well known abroad, but began to be produced in Brazil in 2012. There was no information on its acoustic performance until the pioneering study in 2019 that evaluated acoustic performance in the field and in laboratory, of facades constructed with the system Cross Laminated Timber. This work aims to present the evaluation and results of the acoustic performance, in the field and in the laboratory, of façades constructed with the Cross Laminated Timber system. In the field, aerial sound insulation tests of field façades were performed to determine the Standardized Level Difference (DnT) as a function of frequency and performed the Standardized Weighted Level Difference (DnT,w) calculations. In the laboratory, the aerial sound insulation tests were performed to determine the Sound Reduction Index (R) as a function of frequency and performed the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) calculations. The results of DnT w and Rw. were compared with the performance criteria indicated in part 4 of standard NBR 15575 and with results from studies of other construction systems and also with studies of the CLT construction system abroad. The obtained DnT,w values ranged from 15 to 21 dB and the Rw values found were 29 dB and 34 dB for the thickness surfaces 80 and 120 mm respectively.
