With the growth of urban centers, public open spaces and green areas are often suppressed, affecting not only the urban landscape, which is increasingly moving away from nature, but also local climatic conditions. In light of this scenario, it becomes necessary to better distribute and adapt these spaces in order to ensure the balance of urban metabolism. This article aims to analyze and compare bioclimatic and urban aspects of two squares located in the Central Region of the municipality of Vila Velha-ES, identified based on the results of the environmental quality assessment using the analytical-classificatory tool "QualificaURB." The methodology included on-site measurements of temperature, air velocity, and humidity in the analyzed squares, as well as the collection of meteorological data observed at automatic stations near the studied urban context, seeking to identify environmental and urban aspects associated with the squares that would be influencing climatic variations. As a result, the importance of the relationship between the square and its built environment is highlighted, as well as the positive influence of urban squares on the local microclimate, with the one having a higher density of vegetation showing milder temperatures, thus confirming that the presence of green and permeable areas is associated with the comfort provided by these spaces.
