ESTUDO DE CASO PARA CLIMA TROPICAL CONTINENTAL

Scientific research shows a progressive increase in the Earth's temperature. Although this fact meets opponents, it is recognized, for this study, that climate change is a key global challenge for the 21st century. The objective of this work is to investigate the bioclimatic potential of the city of Cuiabá-MT, considering the emission scenario A2 of the Fourth Report of the IPCC. The methodological procedures consist of elaboration of the future climatic archives; climatic characterization of the study site and determination of the bioclimatic potential through the psychometric charts of a base scenario (1961-1990) and future (2020, 2050 and 2080) scenarios. The results showed that the temperature increased by 21.5% and the relative humidity decreased by 22% in the 2080 scenario, in relation to the base scenario. The passive strategies most susceptible to the effects of global warming were ventilation and artificial conditioning. The artificial conditioning strategy presented a significant increase of the baseline scenario to that of 2080: from 9 to 54% of annual hours and, consequently, a reduction of the ventilation strategy, from 56% in the baseline scenario to 21% in 2080 , Thus highlighting that the investigation of the bioclimatic potential of future climate projections becomes important as an instrument of building resilience to the effects of global warming.
