Abstract

The specific researches in human thermal comfort from the biometeorological aspect presents a pragmatic characteristic, based mainly on the indices of thermal comfort, and few times including the subjective aspects related to the perception. This research is concerned with the relation between the human and the thermal environment from the individual and your perception, through a quali-quantitative approach as complementary to the analytical-objective approach. The methodological proposal was carried out by structured survey with questionnaires, as well as measurement of microclimatic data. Two groups of variables were selected that possibly affect thermal comfort: personal, such as sex, age, body mass index (BMI), clothing and activity; and subjective, related to the experience of long and short time (residence time, use of the ventilator and air conditioning at home and at work, exposure time, frequency and reason for use of the place) and related to the affective experience with the climate. This research demonstrated the influence of the personal and mainly subjective factors on the thermal responses, demonstrating the need to expand the investigations in this focus, using appropriate techniques and method to the type of variable analyzed.
