PARTICIPAÇÃO BRASILEIRA NO PROCESSO INTER-LABORATORIAL

This work aims to present the results of the Brazilian participation in the last Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) associated with the submission of properties data of glass products to the International Glazing Database (IGDB). Tests were performed at the Brazilian Center for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (CB3E) with glass samples provided by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). Three samples were evaluated: 6mm clear glass; laminated glass 12mm; 6mm clear glass with a low emissive (low-e) metallized coating. The equipment used in the measurements were: UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer and FTIR spectrometer. Spectral curves (by wavelength) were obtained for solar transmittance, solar reflectance and thermal emittance. The analyzes of the results of the spectral curves of the three glasses samples showed excellent agreement between the values measured by the CB3E with the response curve of the LBNL. All the variations observed in the curves were considered within the tolerated deviations (± 0.01 for transmittance and ± 0.02 for reflectance and emittance). The approval in the ILC process allowed CB3E to become a RDA (Regional Data Agregator) responsible for submitting data to the IGDB of glass products manufactured in Brazil and in Latin American countries.
