This paper shows, through a Systematic Literature Mapping (SLM), the sintese of works which contain in their aims information about prediction methods, simulation or estimation of sound insulation in building elements. The scope of this research was to identify national researches about the subject, for that congress papers of SOBRAC, ENTAC and ENCAC, in a period between 1990 to 2020, were consulted. The development of this SLM adopted the terms "predição", "simulação", "estimação" or similar terms for the search in the congress sessions where in the thematic session is allowed publications about acoustics in the built environment. Articles that presented the terms adopted in their title, abstract or keywords were selected, resulting in 251 articles. These articles were classified in four groups, “building acoustics”, “room acoustics”, “environmental acoustics” and “others”, and then these groups were compared to each other. The “building acoustics” group represents the works which contain in their scope one defined prediction method of sound insulation, assisted or not by computer. 251 works were found, but only 20 articles were classified as “building acoustics”. This paper inferred the low number of publications with building sound insulation predictions in the Brazilian researches when compared to the other classification groups, the importance of the release of the international standard ISO 12354 at 2005 and the use of softwares to support the sound insulation methods predictions to encourage new publications.
