What is showing on this paper is a possible methodology of evaluating and analyzing architecture accessibility, as a result of an academic extension project, developed by the architecture course of Centro Universitário de João Pessoa – Unipê: “Readequação Habitacional à Pessoas com Deficiência na Cidade de João Pessoa-PB”. This project has been developing an investigation evaluating the limits and possibilities of the built spaces facing users who have acquired a motor deficiency. In this sense, what is presented here is an approach which can be possibly used in another similar study case. It consists in the first place, on a collaboration with the Clinical School of Physiotherapy of the Centro Universitário de João Pessoa, which provided access to patients who have acquired disability and has few resources to adapt his dwelling to this new situation. The exchange of knowledge among the students of the architecture and physiotherapy courses was important in order to understand the limitations of these patients, applying the specific technical norms and providing technical help for possible adequacy of their housing. The work was aided by spatial and photographic surveys and the observation between the anthropometric data and its relationship with the dwelling. In the end, we highlight the difficulties in dealing with such limited built environments - small spaces of economic housing - besides the importance of a spatial and user interaction diagnosis.
