The municipalities are committed to presenting solutions to guarantee children's access to Basic Education. Therefore, the Federal Government created the Proinfancia Program, which provides financial assistance for the implementation of standardized projects of Early Childhood Education institutions. This work is part of a master's thesis and aims to study the thermal performance of an institution of Early Childhood Education that is part of the Program Proinfância in the city of Passo Fundo/RS, taking into account the employees' perception of the built environment. Data collection was done by analyzing the project, measuring environmental variables and interviewing the school teachers about their perception. These data were compared to the requirements of the FNDE to verify compliance. From this pilot project, it was possible to conclude that the building did not meet the requirements defined by FNDE in general. Likewise, the measurements of the environmental variables allied to the interviews showed that the school does not meet the requirements of thermal comfort. Based on a preliminary conclusion, it was possible to identify the positive and negative points in the technical visit script and in the collection of environmental data to suit the procedure for the next schools to be studied.
