This short paper shows the first stage of “Sustainable House” Teaching Project, which aims to develop sustainable house to be a model for semi-arid from RN. The paper objective is to demonstrate a design process of low-in-come house adapted to the local climate and that promotes user comfort with low energy consumption. The method followed these stages: 1) analysis of climate variables in the region and definition of bioclimatic guidelines for the project, with documental and bibliographic research; 2) designing; 3) building performance analysis through computer simulations using Sun Tool and DesignBuilder. The results of the simulations indicate that the thermal performance of the building is satisfactory, but that the biggest thermal gain of the building is through the roof. Therefore, it is necessary to test other materials, especially on the roof, to increase the occurrence of comfort. Thus, “Sustainable House” can became a reference for local building design processes and construction, considering the results of the simulations.
