ANÁLISE DE DESEMPENHO TÉRMICO DE UMA MORADIA INFORMAL REVESTIDA COM EMBALAGENS CARTONADAS

Abstract

The necessity to build informal housing, under conditions of vulnerability, can cause numerous consequences related to thermal comfort conditions and to the health of residents. The objective of this work is to analyze the thermal performance of an informal house covered internally with carton packs, located in the city of Passo Fundo-RS, and to compare its performance in the condition of not having the coating applied. For this analysis, simplified computer simulations were used with the Energy Plus 8.7 software, using the latest climate file from 2018, and the identification of thermal comfort levels under ASHRAE 55/2017 normative parameters for 80% acceptability for naturally ventilated environments. It was possible to observe the high rates of thermal discomfort in the periods of June and January, for cold and heat respectively, even with the application of TetraPak® packaging as an insulating material. It was found that the biggest problem is related to the discomfort due the cold, reaching more than 40% of the hours in the year, a consequence of the structure´s lack of thermal inertia. In addition, the simulations showed rates more than 30% of the hours in the year in discomfort with the heat, demonstrating the need to adequately ventilate the indoor environment, both for the passive cooling of the building as for the air quality. The notes presented in this research are part of a qualitative research involving a social group and a community in conditions of housing vulnerability, which denotes the importance of bringing science closer to the quality of life of people who depend on temporary housing.
