AVALIAÇÃO DE CONFORTO TÉRMICO EM ESTAÇÕES DE TRABALHO LOCALIZADAS PRÓXIMO A FACHADAS ENVIDRAÇADAS
MODELOS DE AJUSTE SOLAR

The concern about windows is emphasized when focusing on heat transfer through building envelope due to the glass transparency to solar radiation and its high thermal transmittance. Workstations are often located nearby fully glazed façades. However, the subject thermal perception is significantly affected by solar radiation exposure. The thermal comfort models widely used, as PMV and Adaptive models, do not approach the effect of occupant exposure to solar radiation in his/her thermal comfort vote, mainly about predictive assessment. For this reason, solar-adjust models have been developed to increase the effect of the beam and diffuse solar radiation in people's thermal comfort. However, these models present relevant differences in their calculation procedures. The present study compares thermal comfort indices results that were corrected by applying four solar-adjust models. The aim is to verify divergences between results obtained for the same room. The focus is on occupants of workstations located nearby the windows area in office spaces. The façade glass type was also changed. The limitations and advantages of each solar-adjust model were numerically compared and analyzed. Significant divergences were observed in the results for the same room. For example, the hourly difference between the solar-adjustment models results reached 11.4ºC in the MRT and 1.7 in PMV. Additionally, some of the models have critical inconsistencies presented.
