The use of wind catchers combined with another passive cooling system such as green roofs is an alternative to enhance the use of natural ventilation in the building. The objective of this article is to evaluate a unidirectional wind tower (an opening) in combination with green roof, in the thermal behavior of a building, whose tool used is the EnergyPlus® software. The methodology of the work has the following steps: construction of model geometry, envelope definitions, including natural ventilation and simulations in the EnergyPlus® software, for eight Brazilian cities, representing each of the Brazilian bioclimatic zones, during the winter and summer periods. From the analysis of the results, represented by the graphs of the average day, it was observed that the green roof on the building slab reduced the internal air temperature in both environments, mainly in the Bioclimatic Zone 6, represented by the city of Goiânia, where there was a reduction of up to 5.8 ° C in the internal temperature of the tower in relation to the external, directing architects and engineers to correctly incorporate the wind towers in their projects.
