The popularization of Zero Energy Building (ZEB) can reduce global energy consumption and, consequently, environmental impacts. Optimization tools can be used to design an energy efficient building, combining variables to find the best solutions. After achieving the possible solutions, a multi-criteria decision methodology is needed. The present study aims to evaluate the envelope configurations according to the optimization process of a single-family residential ZEB for the city of Palmas - TO, considering as criteria: the consumption of electric energy for cooling, the initial investment, and the thermal performance. After the optimization of energy efficiency using the BEopt software, the cost estimate of the photovoltaic system was determined and the percentage of compliance with the minimum comfort of the optimal cases was computed. Then, the Hierarchical Process Analysis (AHP) was applied to classify the solutions. It was found that case C11 presents a more favorable configuration, considering the three criteria concomitantly. Thus, it was possible to verify that the optimization process results can be analyzed from a set of criteria, assisting the decision-making process when designing a ZEB.
