The constant growth of air conditioning use in office buildings highlight the importance of passive design options incorporation such as natural ventilation, to thus save energy. This paper aim is to evaluate the potential of the natural ventilation use together with other parameters that impacts on the energy efficiency classification of an office building located in Manaus-AM; to do so, the Natural Comfort tool included in the Inmetro Normative Instruction for the Energy Efficiency Classification of Commercial, and Public Service Buildings (INI-C) will be used. The methodological procedures are: i) building’s data collection as inputs values for the interfaces use; ii) definition of the hot discomfort hour fraction due to occupation; iii) total annual envelope thermal load calculation; and iv) energy efficiency classification. The results indicated that tilting windows combined with the ceiling fans use represented the higher reductions related to the numbers of thermal discomfort hours when compared to the same condition without ceiling fans use. Also, the natural ventilation use considering the best parameters combination modified the energy efficiency classification from B to A, with 30% of the annual thermal load reduction compared to the reference condition, equivalent to the D level.
