UMA DISCUSSÃO SOBRE INDICADORES ENERGÉTICOS PARA SUPERMERCADOS

Abstract

Most of papers in the literature addresses energy efficiency for residential and office buildings. A gap in the literature was found for the supermarket typology, despite its high energy consumption. Understanding this typology’s typical energy consumption helps in decision making in order to identify energy efficient strategies. This paper aims to provide a critical comparison between energy indicators found in the literature and the energy consumption of a supermarket located in Viçosa-MG. It was observed in the literature a lack of standardization in the indicator unity. Discrepancy was found in the type of energy assessed – electric energy and total energy – and use of assorted energy consumption indicator units. Besides that, the difference between location and supermarket sizes found in the literature also limited the comparisons with the case study. Was identified a demand to create a standard for energy consumption indicators and benchmarks for the typology, mainly in Brazil, which has only outdated data.
