AQUECIMENTO URBANO, A FALTA DO VERDE E A FALTA DE ESPAÇO

PROPOSTAS DE DESENHO URBANO PARA ADAPTAÇÃO À MUDANÇA DO CLIMA NA MICROESCALA NA CIDADE DE SÃO PAULO

Abstract

The intense predation and exploitation of natural resources are the main causes of a profound environmental imbalance that, sum with the effects of climate change, lead to increased temperatures, changes in rainfall, droughts and flooding. An inadequate urban design and the loss of vegetation in cities aggravate more these processes and, therefore, the development of urban plans and urbanistic tools that regulate the use and occupation of urban space and mitigation projects and, especially, for adaptation to climate change effects in the microscale are essential. This research, still in its initial stage, is based on the premise that the development of urban planning tools and strategies enable the implementation and increase of vegetation in the formal and consolidated urban space of the city of São Paulo and, consequently, promote the improvement of the microclimate at the local scale and the construction of urban spaces more adapted to climate change. The objective is to develop patterns of implementation of vegetation in an urban area of the city of São Paulo, intervening in public and private spaces that include public access, and to quantify its thermal mitigation effect at the pedestrian level in high temperature situations. An urban mapping will be carried out to select the study area based on pre-selected criteria and the ENVI-met model will be used to perform computer simulations to compare the microclimate effects between the real situations of the study area and the proposal. It is expected that the work will dialogue with the public authorities, especially the Secretaria Municipal do Verde e Meio Ambiente, feedback on municipal laws and plans based on the results found and contribute to the climatic and thermal aspects.
