Abstract

The article discusses the integration of soundscape into the teaching of architecture and urban planning, conducted with third-semester students from (censored for evaluation) in São Luís/MA. The students, who had not yet taken the acoustic comfort course, participated in acoustic measurements and filled out questionnaires about their sound perceptions. Most students considered the activity positive, highlighting the relevance of the practical experience for applying theoretical concepts. The comments of the participants indicated that the activity made them more aware of sound aspects that had previously gone unnoticed, promoting critical reflection on the impact of sound on urban planning. The study emphasizes the importance of including soundscape in the teaching of architecture and urban planning, contributing to the training of professionals more attentive to the quality of the built environment.
