Abstract

The consolidation of the interiorization policy of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in the last decade, has led to the physical expansion of its campuses to meet the demands arising from academic and administrative activities, requiring a physical-territorial order. From this perspective, the central administration appointed committees to update and prepare master plans for its campuses. Throughout the construction process of the Macaíba-RN Campus Master Plan, the participation of the university community occurred through community reading workshops, holding hearings and participation in a local committee designated to monitor and collaborate in the preparation of the work carried out. In the process of developing the Macaíba Campus Master Plan, bioclimatic analysis techniques were used to define spatial guidelines, reflecting the way in which its activities are understood, how its objectives are conceived and achieved and what the expansion prospects are.
