Resumo

The Building Information Modeling methodology offers solutions for the management and integrated elaboration of projects, as well as establishing an alternative way of preparing budgets. However, despite the potential benefits of using BIM, there is resistance in its use in organizations. This work aims to identify the barriers encountered by companies in the civil construction industry for the implementation of BIM for the budgeting of building projects. For that, a theoretical review and interviews with professionals of the field were carried out. The lack of time to make the transition between traditional and BIM methods, the adaptation of the team to the new method and the incompatibility of software used by the companies and their project partners were the main barriers reported for the implementation of BIM in the budget execution of buildings.
