XIX NATIONAL MEETING ON TECHNOLOGY IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul | Canela- RS

November 09, 2022 - November 11, 2022

Unlike anything we have seen, the virus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has affected the world. During the pandemic, the built environment was used in different ways. Many people suffer some kind of discomfort and suffering in their professional and personal lives. It is time to adjust to the moment and promote advances for the new life surrounding us. We must ensure a resilient and sustainable built environment, focusing on a future adaptable to the necessary changes.

As an interested party, the XIX NATIONAL MEETING ON TECHNOLOGY IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT presents the theme “Built Environment: Resilient and Sustainable” to be thought and discussed during the three days of the event. The theme proposes the event exchange of experiences incorporating the current post-pandemic reality, resilient environments, and the incorporation of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve the Built Environment. Among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN), those that interact with the theme of ENTAC 2022 are mentioned:

  • Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages SDG 3.
  • Ensuring reliable, sustainable, modern and affordable access to energy for all, SDG 7.
  • Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation, SDG 9.
  • Making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, SDG 11.
  • Ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns, SDG 12.

The 10 ANTAC Working Groups (GTS) that study the built environment and the UN SDGs form an interesting and motivating challenge to the academic environment, especially given the socioeconomic, political-economic and structural constraints of society, which were associated with five Thematic Axes: Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment, Cities, Housing, Sustainable Design and Construction and Industrialization and Innovation.

November 12, 2018 - November 14, 2018

The ENTAC2018 - XVII National Meeting of Technology in the Built Environment discusses the Challenges of Innovation in the Built Environment with participants. Researchers, representatives of public agencies and companies in the sector seeking not only to understand the barriers and potential for innovation in the area of Built Environment Technology in Brazil but mainly to know and learn from successful experiences in other countries. In recent decades we see the world in rapid transformation, especially when we look at the development of technologies. BIM (Building Information Modeling), Internet of Things (IoT - Internet of Things), augmented reality, robotics, home automation, nanomaterials, eco-cements, regenerative materials, and full-scale 3D printing, among other innovations, present challenges to political-economic and structural constraints of academia and the productive sector. On the other hand, many of these innovations also represent opportunities for improving the productivity of the Civil Construction Industry, generating new skills, and increasing diversity and transdisciplinarity in the Technology of the Built Environment approach. Topics such as sustainable urban mobility, smart cities, design thinking, reducing emissions from building materials, environmental certification, and product lifecycle management are integrative approaches to problems arising from or generating innovations.
