Abstract

In construction sector, there are several reports of inefficiency in many activities, which cause considerable losses in productivity. In an attempt to increase activities productivity, the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a strong ally, allowing to capture complex information with precision, commonly difficult to be obtained without the aid of Information Technology. From this approach, this paper proposes a bibliometric study of articles relating IoT and construction, verifying the impacts on activities productivity. The papers were researched between the years 2015 and 2019 in several periodicals and congresses of great relevance in the scientific environment, such as the magazine "Automation in Construction" and the journal "Journal of Information Technology in Construction" (ITcon). Through the research, it was possible to understand and organize the information collected, such as: which environments are most studied, which subjects are most discussed, where the studies are performed most frequently, among others. As a result, 61 papers were identified and analyzed, which indicates the great potential of IoT's application in civil construction sector.
