Mudanças no comportamento de caminhada durante a pandemia de COVID-19 no Brasil

Abstract

Evidence indicates that built environment’s characteristics can stimulate physical activity, promoting health improvements. Due to the high transmissibility of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, several countries have implemented restrictive circulation measures. This study aims to analyze changes in walking behavior before and during the pandemic in the Brazilian context. From the application of a questionnaire on a webGIS platform in Londrina-PR, a significant increase in walking trips conducted for physical activity was identified in the sample (n=305). The obtained results support discussions of urban public policies for healthier and more resilient cities, one of the 17 Goals of the sustainable development goals.
