Abstract

Usually Brazilian buildings have been made using few industrial techniques with high environmental cost. Engineered timber added with industrialized construction could make the buildings more sustainable. This paper aims to show the BIM project process of a house industrialized in CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber). The methodology has started from the spatial hierarchy of an existing building design, focusing on the possibility of becoming this design either a volumetric, or a modular or a paneled design. The dimensions were refined using BIM methodology aiming at the best use of the CLT panels. Lastly, the verification and pre-sizing of the wooden building was carried out.
