Abstract

This article presents a new method for calculating the inspection deadline for concrete bridges using Revit for modeling and Dynamo to create a routine that allows viewing the most critical elements and the deadline for a new inspection. To this end, bridges were screened based on criteria proposed based on the characteristics of the bridge, such as age, environmental aggressiveness class and score from the last inspection. The screening aims to classify bridges into two categories to calculate an inspection period that best characterizes the health diagnosis presented and thereby improve bridge care and at the same time reduce inspection-related costs. Furthermore, the most common structural damages in concrete bridges were surveyed in the literature and based on them, all elements of the bridge must be evaluated regarding the factors of occurrence, consequence, and possibility of detection. The method is applied to an existing bridge. This work brings a new perspective on the analysis of deadlines for bridges, in addition to combining it with the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
