Abstract

The daylighting simulation software has specific characteristics, with the reliability of the data generated and the form of interaction factors that influence the user's choice of one of these software, which gives usability a fundamental role. In this study, the practice of using software in scientific research was verified by collecting bibliographic data from articles published in ENTAC and ENCAC. It was decided to explore all editions of these events until 2020, totaling 33 editions and 194 articles valid for the study. The following were investigated: input data, processing and output data. In the statistical analysis, we chose to calculate the average and compare proportions. There was an increase in the use of computer simulation in the last decade and trends were highlighted in mesh simulation and the use of annualized metrics, as well as the use of plug-ins to integrate the software with the BIM platform. Interface analysis provides users with information that includes reliability in a set that also aims to reveal the quality of the user's interaction with the software.
