This study investigates the possibility of using Textile Sludge (LOTex) as a supplementary cementitious material, aiming to mitigate the environmental impact and improve waste management in the textile sector. LOTex was treated with grinding and calcination to increase its pozzolanic reactivity, with different calcination temperatures (600°C, 700°C, and 800°C). In addition, the influence of the material's specific surface area was examined by grinding the samples and classifying them into two ranges (no grinding and 1200 m²/kg). All samples were physically and mineralogically characterized. With this, a study was conducted on calcium hydroxide (CH) and LOTex pastes, in which the consumption of CH was verified by X-ray diffraction through the relative decrease in the intensity of its characteristic peaks (18° and 24°2Ɵ). The study proved the increase in the reactivity of the samples with calcination and the increase in the specific surface area. The samples that presented the best pozzolanic performance were those calcined at 600°C. Therefore, within the limitations of this study, the feasibility of using LOTex, treated with grinding and calcination, as an alternative supplementary cementitious material is proven.
