Abstract

This study examines the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in electrical and plumbing systems projects at FECFAU/UNICAMP Project Coordination. The research aims to understand how the adoption of BIM changes project production, its benefits, and challenges. A case study was conducted by analyzing the 15 most relevant building systems projects at CProj over the past 10 years. The study concludes that the adoption of BIM at CProj has been positive and demonstrates that BIM is a powerful tool for the digital transformation of the construction industry, providing greater efficiency, accuracy, and quality in projects.  The results indicate that the adoption of BIM has brought several benefits, such as improved 3D visualization of projects, optimization of quantity generation, and standardization of processes. However, the implementation of BIM depends on overcoming challenges such as cultural change and the need to train agents involved in the construction processes at all stages of the building life cycle.
