Abstract

The growth in the use of non-adhered coatings (ventilated facades) in Brazilian constructions in recent years is notorious, making it necessary to evaluate their performance in relation to the requirements of the ABNT NBR 15575-4 standard. In this context, this work aims to present the normative requirements that can be verified in the non-adhered coating system and to discuss the need for standardization of the prototypes to perform the tests, also considering the fixations and bindings, justifying the adopted model. The work was carried out through the case study of thirty tests carried out in the laboratory, which had their prototypes defined by the test contractor. The objective of this work is to evaluate the results obtained in view of the requirements of the ABNT NBR 15575-4 standard, if the size of the prototypes and dimensions of the plates may cause possible interferences in the results.

Engenheira Civil, MBA em Gestão Empresarial, mestranda em Habitação e diretora técnica do laboratório ITEC, especializado em ensaios em esquadrias em geral, atua há mais de 27 anos em laboratórios e participante assídua das comissões de normas técnicas relacionadas às esquadrias.

Julio Cesar Sabadini de Souza, IPT - Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas

He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (1993), a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1997) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2003). He is currently a researcher II at the Institute of Technological Research of the State of São Paulo, working mainly in the performance evaluation of construction systems.
