Abstract

Accelerated urban development brings with it several impacts on the environment. The civil construction sector is one of the sectors that produces the most waste, and that consumes the most natural resources. In the context environmental certifications aim to define the architectural design, execution, and occupation of buildings in a more sustainable way. However, few studies seek to compare operational results to certification definitions. Therefore, this study aims to carry out an analysis of water consumption data in a corporate building in the city of Curitiba, Paraná. The project has LEED Platinum certification, and it is intended, through real consumption data, to establish a correlation with the project attributes defined in the credits fulfilled to obtain certification. Water consumption was analyzed over two years of occupation, in the post- pandemic period (2022 and 2023). The analysis of this study demonstrated good use of rainwater. It is possible to conclude that a building with LEED certification contributes to more sustainable development and in the long term provides financial savings.
