Abstract

The term "Dojo", originating from Japanese and traditionally associated with martial arts, has been adapted in the Lean context as an environment dedicated to learning and continuous improvement. The article presents an analysis of implementing a Dojo as a strategy to support the Built-In Quality approach in the construction industry. A case study was conducted at a modular construction company, focusing initially on Drywall execution, a critical activity in the analyzed production process. The results highlight increased operational efficiency and perceived quality as primary benefits of implementing the Dojo. The study contributes to understanding the effectiveness of the Dojo as a key tool for promoting embedded quality in civil construction and underscores the specificities and opportunities associated with its adoption in industrialized construction.
