Abstract

Photovoltaic generation is an important renewable energy source in Brazil as it is countercyclical to hydroelectric generation, the basis of the electrical matrix. Distributed photovoltaic generation in urban centers brings energy production closer to consumption, avoiding transmission and distribution losses, since single-family homes combine few floors with low consumption and easily reach zero balance. The densification and verticalization of cities, due to more permissive legislation, threaten solar access and the shading of buildings conditions the photovoltaic generation, which also depends on favorable policies. The city of Chapecó-SC had an extreme population growth, densifying the center, with changes in the masterplan that allowed greater land occupation and increased height. Thus, the objective is to analyze the impact of changes in the municipal masterplan on the distributed generation of a single-family residence, comparing the performance of three simulations of photovoltaic generation of the residence with different rates in its surroundings. The simulations use the Trimble SketchUp programs with plugin Euclid 0.93 and EnergyPlus. The results show decreases in photovoltaic generation from one third to half, according to the month, making evident the impact of shading caused by the alteration of urban indices in photovoltaic generation, with an annual decrease of 1000 kWh.
